Creating a New Laboratory Package

Updated today

This article provides guidance on adding new laboratory tests and complex laboratory packages to the system. This feature allows you to combine the parameters of external laboratory providers with the institution's own pricing strategy, enabling flexible management of custom test palettes and package offers.

Step-by-Step Setup of Laboratory Tests

To access this feature, navigate to Settings > Examinations > Add New Examination in the left sidebar.

General Settings

First, record the general information on the data sheet:

  • Examination Type: Select the "Labor" option.

  • Selecting a Laboratory Provider: Specify the laboratory type (e.g., Synlab, Medicover, Cordes, etc.) with which the system is integrated.

  • Specialty and Doctor: Assign the test to the appropriate specialty and calendar (or doctor).

  • Naming: Provide the name of the test in both Hungarian and English for better searchability.

Selecting Laboratory Elements

Assemble the content of the package in the "Laboratory Elements" section:

  • Search and Add: Search the list on the left for elements provided by the laboratory (e.g., blood count, blood sugar, sampling fee).

  • Transfer: Use the arrows to move the desired elements into the "Examination Composition" column.

  • Pricing: The system displays the total list price of the selected elements. In the "Custom Labor Price" field, you can set a fixed package price that may differ from the sum of the list prices (e.g., for a discounted package offer).

Booking and Payment Conditions

In the final stage of the setup, you can record the booking rules similar to standard examinations:

  • Select the payment method (e.g., on-site, online credit card).

  • Set the cancellation policy and calendar display parameters.

  • Click Save at the end of the process.

Tips

Search Terms: When searching for laboratory elements, use abbreviated codes or keywords (e.g., "got", "gpt", "sampling") for faster selection.

Package Pricing: If you provide a "Custom Price," the system will display this to the patient, regardless of how the sum of the list prices changes.

Summary

  • New laboratory tests can be created under the Settings / Examinations menu.

  • After selecting the provider, the full test palette becomes available.

  • A single test can contain any number of laboratory elements and a custom price.

  • Once saved, the test immediately appears in the calendar and becomes bookable.

FAQ

How can I create a package that includes the sampling fee?

When selecting laboratory elements, search for the "sampling fee" element and add it to the examination composition. You can then specify a custom price that includes the sampling fee.

Can I modify the composition of the package later?

Yes, under the "Edit Examinations" menu, you can add or remove elements from existing laboratory packages at any time.

What happens if an element is not found in the list?

Check if you have selected the correct laboratory provider (Labor Type). If the element is still not visible, contact customer support to update the integration.
