Management and Modification of Laboratory Bookings

Updated today

This article outlines the specific features and management process of laboratory-type bookings. Laboratory bookings differ from standard outpatient care because a single appointment can include multiple test elements (parameters) or test packages. The system provides a flexible interface for viewing and adjusting these elements.

Laboratory Booking Details

To manage laboratory bookings, navigate to the Calendar Overview (or any other menu suitable for managing bookings) and click on an existing laboratory appointment.

Viewing Test Elements

In the booking details, the name of the laboratory package is displayed next to the "Service" field. Clicking on this name opens a table containing all laboratory elements associated with the booking, where you can see:

  • The code and name of the laboratory elements.

  • The name of the package the element belongs to.

  • Individual prices of the elements.

  • This data list is also transmitted via API to connected medical software.

Modifying Bookings and Customizing the Palette

When editing a booking, the system allows for fine-tuning the contents of the laboratory package:

  • Adding/Removing Elements: You can select additional tests from the full laboratory palette or remove existing ones.

  • Package Pricing: If an element that is part of a fixed-price package is removed, the system continues to use the original package price. If a new element is added, the price updates automatically based on the current list price.

  • Sample Handling Fees: Sampling or other handling costs can be set separately on the interface.

  • Reverting Changes: You can return to the original state at any time using the "Reset Modifications" button.

Tips

Data Transfer: A link containing the list of laboratory elements is automatically transferred to the medical system, eliminating the need for manual data entry during sampling.

Labsender Module: It is recommended to subscribe to the Labsender module, which expands the management of laboratory tests with further automated functions.

Summary

  • Laboratory bookings can contain multiple test parameters within a single time slot.

  • The list of test elements is accessible directly from the booking datasheet.

  • Laboratory package contents and sampling fees can be customized before saving.

  • The system displays the difference between the original and the modified price.

FAQ

Does the booking price change if I remove an element from the package?

If the element is part of a fixed-price package, the price usually remains unchanged. If you remove an individual list item, the price decreases automatically.

When is the sampling fee charged?

The sampling fee is automatically added to the booking as soon as at least one laboratory test is selected. If multiple tests are selected, the system defaults to a one-time fee, but this can be manually adjusted on the interface.

What happens if I close the window without saving?

The system sends a warning if it detects unsaved changes, preventing data loss.
