Introduction
Once document templates are created in the system, they can be edited and customized in detail. This function ensures that previously created blank or basic templates are populated with real content and dynamic data fields.
During the editing process, variables (data fields) can be placed on the document, which will automatically populate with the patient's data during patient arrival. This significantly speeds up administration and reduces the risk of manual data entry errors.
The following guide demonstrates how to open an existing template for editing, how to add basic patient details (e.g., name, date of birth, contact info), and how to finalize the document.
Steps to Edit a Template
Opening the Editor Interface
Navigate to the Document templates submenu within Patient handling.
Locate the previously created template you wish to edit in the list.
Click the Edit button located on the right side of the row.
Adding Data Fields
On the loading editor interface, you can place various data fields.
Select or search for the desired data field from the menu on the left.
The basic fields shown in the example are as follows:
Name: Find and add the First name and Last name fields.
Date of Birth: Add the Birth date field.
Email Address: Select the Email address option.
Phone Number: For faster results, use the Search field at the top of the list, type "phone", and then add the field.
Saving and Finalizing
Once the necessary fields have been placed:
Click the Save button to record the changes.
The page will reload, and the added fields will be saved in the template. These fields will be available for use during future patient arrivals.
Tips
Use Search: If choosing from many available data fields, use the search bar at the top of the list for faster navigation (e.g., when looking for the phone number).
PDF Background: Although the example shows a blank document, if a real PDF is uploaded, fields can be moved freely and positioned over the PDF text, allowing forms to be filled out precisely.
Summary

Dynamic data fields (name, date, contact info) can be added to the template.
The search field helps in quickly finding the correct variables.
After saving, the template is immediately ready for use in patient admission processes.
