Creating Custom Patient Data

Updated over 2 months ago

Introduction

The system allows you to create additional custom data fields for patients beyond the standard default information. This feature is particularly useful if you wish to record specific details such as body weight, height, or other specific health indicators.

Using custom data enables you to tailor patient profiles more precisely to meet the institution's needs. The type and usage of the created fields can be flexibly configured.

Main Content

To record new data fields, follow these steps:

  1. Select Patient Handling from the left-hand menu.

  2. Click on the Custom Patient Data option.

  3. If no data has been added yet, the list will be empty. Click the Add button.

  4. In the pop-up window, enter the name of the data (e.g., "Body Weight").

  5. Select the Type of Data. This can be:

    • Number

    • Text field

    • Checkbox

  6. Define the scope of the data (Main Data or Reservation Data):

    • Main Data: This information is directly linked to the patient's profile and remains the same across all bookings (e.g., the patient's gender or permanent characteristics).

    • Reservation Data: This information is linked to a specific appointment, meaning it is saved for that specific reservation (e.g., current symptoms or temporary condition).

  7. Click the Save button to finalize the settings.

Tips

Choosing Data Type: Always select the data type that matches the information you intend to record (e.g., use "Number" for weight) to ensure the system handles the data correctly.

Main vs. Reservation Data: Consider whether the data changes over time (e.g., blood pressure measured at each visit) or remains constant. This helps in deciding the correct category.

Summary

  • Custom patient data can be created under the Patient Handling menu.

  • Various data types (number, text, etc.) can be configured.

  • A distinction is made between patient-linked (Main Data) and appointment-linked (Reservation Data) information.

  • The recorded data fields are immediately saved in the system.

FAQ

What is the difference between Main Data and Reservation Data?

Main Data is stored in the patient database and belongs to the patient generally (constant characteristic), whereas Reservation Data is specifically linked to a particular visit or booking.

Can data groups be modified later?

Based on the source material, this process covers creating the data field itself; adding it to a data group may be a separate process.

What types of data can I record?

The system supports numbers, text fields, and checkboxes.
